Kitty Bytes - November 2005

The cat has nine lives, three for playing, three for straying, and three for staying.

- Old English proverb -

One way that you can increase your cat's life for staying instead of straying is to spay and neuter your cat(s).

Spaying and neutering increases their lifespan by taking them out of the running for certain cancers and diseases.

Spaying and neutering takes the wandering bug out of most cats, so you are less likely to suffer the heartache of your cat vanishing during kitten season, never to be seen again.

Spaying and neutering just makes sense!

Kitty Bit

This Kitty Bit comes from Ben Braat, DVM of Linn Benton Veterinary in Albany, Oregon.

Ben urges, that if your cat is ill with a cold, please do not give your cat Tylenol or aspirin. Tylenol will kill your cat. Acetaminophen is fatal for cats. They cannot break down the drug effectively in their system like we can. Tylenol and aspirin should be avoided at all times and a vet should be consulted any time your cat is ill.
